About - Waldorf Knoll Academy

We are a world-class school located near Jabi Lake in the heart of Abuja for children from ages 2 to 16. The Academy is the first educational centre in Africa to facilitate education via digital classrooms, using a combination of the latest Apple and Samsung technology.

Classroom suites provide bespoke education for individuals throughout the whole curriculum; with the subject specialist supporting with teaching empathy and critical thinking in a fun and interactive way. As our children are the future it is paramount to embrace the era of digital transformation, so by combining technology and human interaction in our classrooms, we can lay the foundations for a sustainable future.

Brooke House College is based in the heart of England educating students from ages 11-19. The school community is lively, diverse and caring; it is a happy place with a strong family atmosphere, where friendship matters and the journey of learning is paramount. Alongside the main school, we run a successful and well respected Football Academy where players are given the opportunity to train and fulfil their potential, exposing their talents in matches and tournaments in the UK and overseas.

Water FC Abuja

In its bid to drive soccer sports in Nigeria, Waldorf Knoll Academy is affiliated with Water FC, a football academy founded in 2008 which also privately owns a 2000 capacity stadium in Apo, Abuja Nigeria. The football club will help nurture our students to perfect their soccer skills to world standards.
The owner of Water FC, Mr Makanjuola Nureni is a Licensed FIFA Agent working with many top professional clubs in Europe. He has produced many great players who played in both senior and junior FIFA World Cup such as Babatunde Michael, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, and Success Makanjuola (2019 U20 FIFA World Cup player) who was recently signed by the club to CD Leganés, a Spanish La Liga Club based in Madrid.
To buttress our love for sports, talented players from among our students can win scholarships abroad to pursue their soccer dreams as well as other sports and/ or academic aspirations.

The International Award for Young People Nigeria

The International Award for Young People Nigeria (also referred to as The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award) is a global framework for non-formal education and learning, which challenges young people to dream big, celebrate their achievements and make a difference in their world. It gives students aged 14+ a framework that empowers them to learn and grow through non-formal education, all while working towards globally recognised accreditation worldwide.

The Award is earned in three progressive levels:

Bronze: for those 14 years or older (after participating for at least six months).
Silver: for those 15 years and older (after participating for at least twelve months).
Gold: for those 16 years and older (after participating for at least eighteen months).

The Award is achievable at any level by undertaking activities under 4 sections: Skills, Service, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey with an additional requirement: Residential Project at Gold level.

Skills: The aim of this section is to encourage the development of personal interests and practical skills such as painting, craft work, fashion designing, music etc.

Voluntary Service: The service section aims to encourage giving useful voluntary service to others and their communities. Examples include: First Aid, environmental sanitation, care for the physically challenged, elderly, sick or visit to orphanages etc.

Physical Recreation: Participation in physical recreation helps to improve performance, health, and fitness. Examples include: jogging, basketball, badminton, weight-lifting etc.

Adventurous journey: The aim of this section is to encourage a sense of adventure and self-discovery whilst undertaking a journey in a group. It involves a camping trip taken to cultivate good teamwork habits, self-confidence, appreciation of nature, enhancement of problem solving skills and it also helps create new friendships. Examples are: bush walking, hiking, cycling across a state or town, canoeing etc.

Residential Project: This section aims to broaden young people’s experiences through living and working with others in a residential setting. This is undertaken only at Gold level and it provides participants with the opportunity to share a purposeful experience with people who are not their usual companions and work towards a common goal, set out by the participants themselves.
